How to Activate ABBYY Software with Serial Number

If you have purchased an ABBYY software product, such as FineReader or Lingvo, you will need to activate it before you can use it. There are several ways to activate your product, and we will walk you through each method below.

Activating by Phone, Fax, or Email

To activate your product using these methods, you will need to enter the Activation Code or Activation File provided by ABBYY into the corresponding field of the Activation Wizard. First, choose whether you want to activate your product over the phone, via fax, or through email. If you choose to activate by phone or fax, be sure to provide your contact information so that an activation code can be sent to you.

If you are activating by fax, simply print and fax the activation message generated by the Activation Wizard to the specified fax number. Depending on your region, you may also need to contact a nearby ABBYY office or partner using your Installation ID and serial number.

Activating over the Internet

Alternatively, you can activate your product automatically over the internet. To do this, simply enter your serial number into the Activation Wizard and select 'Via Internet' as your activation method. The software will be activated automatically, and within a few seconds you should receive a message indicating that your product is ready for use.

Choosing an Activation Method

In the Activation Wizard, you can choose one of three activation methods:

* By phone or fax

* Via internet

* By email

Selecting 'By fax or phone' will prompt you to enter your contact information and provide additional instructions on how to complete the activation process. Selecting 'Via Internet' will automatically activate your product using an internet connection.

Tips for a Quick Activation

To ensure a quick reply from the activation server, please do not alter the information in the message body or subject field when activating by email or fax. Additionally, be sure to check that you have entered your serial number and Installation ID correctly before attempting to activate your product.
